| More info | October| 8th | “Considering College? What You Need to Know Before You Go.” | Two career experts, Carol Christen, co-author, “What Color Is Your Parachute? for Teens,” and Robin Roman Wright, Career Coach and AD/HD Coach, will share what they have learned about how to successfully navigate from the high school environment, through higher education, and into the world of work.
They believe part of the problem is that students typically don’t set goals and know ahead of time why they are taking the courses that they are taking. This telecourse will help you, as a teen or young adult, identify the picture of your ideal job, learn how to research career options that approximate your ideal, and give you the tools you need to land a job in your desired field. (If you are attending for the benefit of a young adult, you will leave with the tips and strategies to share with them.)
They want to prepare you to look at the end game early—in high school or in your first two years of college—so that you can find work that is fulfilling and create a life without burdensome debt.
Target Audience: High school students, college freshman and sophomores, parents, college counselors, high school guidance counselors and other youth workers.
Fee: $195
